Just My Cup of Tea

Hi everyone! First off, let me just apologize for my absolute lack of posts lately. I have so many new products and new clothes that I could write up posts about, but I've just been far too lazy. But, that is all going to change. Starting now (!!!) I'll be posting at least two times per week. I also want to try and branch out a little further from my usual baking/makeup type posts and start trying some outfit of the day posts, DIYs and maybe some guest posts written by some of my lovely friends. Who knows? Just something to get a little bit excited over! Carrying on.

This is a post I've been meaning to write for quite some time now and I have finally decided just to stop being so lazy and get on it. I am a big tea drinker, drinking several cups each day. Though I am always scouring shops and the tea section of the supermarket for new teas to try, I thought it would be fun to create a post featuring a few of my most favourite teas to drink throughout the day. So, go and turn your kettle on, make yourself a cuppa and read on.

Davids Tea 'Forever Nuts' - Probably the most delicious smelling tea I have ever come across, it smells like desserts. It is an herbal (caffeine-free) tea made with almonds, apples, cinnamon and beetroot. Visually it's very pretty, the beetroot turns your water a bright pink colour! It has a very fruity taste with a spicy base of cinnamon. This tea is already quite sweet so I find that I don't need to add any sugar or honey. Because of it's slight spicy taste, I think it would pair very well with cinnamon coffee cakes or other cinnamon desserts.

Tealish 'Sweet Macaron' - I absolutely love macarons, so when I saw this tea on the Tealish website I knew that I needed to give it a try. It's a green tea with hazelnuts, almonds, candied pineapple, coconut and walnuts. I'm usually not too crazy about green teas, but I really do like this one. The strongest flavours I taste are almond and vanilla, so it is very macaron-esque. For dessert, I would pair this tea with (what a surprise!) macarons or other almond cookies and baked goods.

Davids Tea 'Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait' - Another herbal from Davids tea. I was given a free sample of this while in store and while I didn't buy it right away, I went home and could not stop thinking about it so on my next visit a purchase had to be made. This tea includes strawberry, rhubarb, yogurt bits, apples, hibiscus, raisins, carrots and beetroot. Like Forever Nuts, this tea is a beautiful pinky colour. It is both sweet from the strawberry, and tart from the rhubarb and the yogurt gives it a slight creaminess - I know yogurt in tea seems kind of odd, but trust me! This stuff is lovely! And while you can drink it hot, I find that it is just as good poured over ice. Serve it with some strawberry muffins (shamelessly promoting myself a bit here) and you have the makings of a garden tea party in the sun.

Davids Tea 'White Chocolate Frost' - Have you noticed any sort of pattern with all my selections so far? They are all dessert-related. Oops. This is my go-to cold day tea. My best friend bought me some of this stuff for Christmas this past year and it's just so wintery and delicious. I love white chocolate and I love mint. Together? In a tea? This is the stuff that dreams are made of. It's made with mint, white chocolate and pink peppercorns and just a single sip really warms you up inside. Now that the weather is (slowly) getting warmer, I think I'll hide this away until the bitter cold and snow return. Serve a big, hot mug of this tea with brownies or another chocolaty dessert.

Taylors of Harrogate 'Yorkshire Tea' - Last, but certainly not least is Yorkshire Tea. It is just a black tea, plain and simple. This is the tea I reach for every morning when I wake up, and plenty of times throughout the day as well. I probably brew this tea more than any of the others, it just works any time of the day. You can brew it as weak or as strong as you like, I like it quite strong with just a splash of skim milk. I find that no sugar or sweeteners are necessary. Since this is just a plain black tea, it pairs well with pretty much anything. But, you should really try it with some homemade scones and lemon curd (more shameless self promotion, oops!)! What I really like about this tea is the work they do to help the environment. From responsible packaging, to fighting deforestation, their website highlights all the good that they do. On their packs of tea, there are tokens that you can collect and send in. Every four tokens you send in, they will donate an extra 50p to the Yorkshire Rainforest Project, which is really something that I can get behind.

Thank you for reading! Do let me know in the comments below what your favourite tea is! I'd love to know! xx

  1. I'm a Yorkshire tea girl all the way, though that may be because I live in Yorkshire haha. I take mine quite weak with lots of milk, and unlimited chocolate hobnobs, yum :)
